Blinker problem
my g/fs blinker works sometimes, and sometimes not. the lever still goes down, or up, defending on left or right. but the bulbs dont blink, and theres no click inside, and i may be wrong, but i think the green dash arrow might not blink either.
this is random, seems to work/not work and 50/50 split.
seems like a relay to me, but i know very little about them.

Did you check the bulbs first? What I do is I put the 4-ways on and look from front to back to see if any bulb isn't flashing. If I spot a non-flashing bulb, I pull it and pluck it to see if the fillament vibrates around in the bulb excessively. If it does, it's bad.

You could swap the flasher and see if it works. If the issue persists, wiggle the signal stalk to see if the signal on the dash blinks either left or right. The switch in the column could be bad.

Have you replaced the flashers? there is 1 for hazards and 1 for regular blinkers.
Both are under the dash down by where your knees would be...there is a GREAT writeup on here i saw recently with very goods pics

Just hope it's not the turn signal switch in the column.. It's a total PITA to get to, and junk yards are usually reluctant to tear open a good column for one.. The one for my GP and the one for my z34 were $160 bucks new.. Neither one had air bags like the Alero so it should be even more fun to change.. I'd try new lamps and flasher module, after that it's column time..

Nice! Much better than the Hanes.. I have both and like the Chiltons much better, and found sometimes the spec sections of the Hanes either does'nt have all the specs, or has a different spec listed than the Chiltons. Sometimes the Hanes proceedures are off too.. Jumbling or lumping things together from engine to engine. Whereas Chilton tends to give proceedures for each type of engine rather than lumping all engines/cars together under the same proceedures..

I have used both Haynes and Chilton. I can't complain about either.
