Firebird won't start
So my buddy has a 99 bird with a 3.8 A4, after market alarm.
Lately it hasnt wanted to start, no response at all when he turns the key, he tries it a few times then it goes.
But a few days ago it quit, theres no response from the key at all. if he puts it in the "on" position his dash lights up, gauges come on, all that stuff. but when he turns to crank, its like nothing happening, no attempts to turn over, no solenoid click. Hes had the starter, battery, and alternator tested, all fine. Its not throwing any ODBII codes either.
My guess is that the factory anti theft is pissed off for some reason and is locking him out.
any ideas?

I have no idea, I dont think he knows much about the alarm, the previous owner installed it.
Youre in Paris, were in Tyler, not too far away, like 100 miles

Clean the key with alcohol and run it in a few times. Leave the car locked for a few hours then try it again.. then move this to the firebird section(mod..)
Mine has done this before

Your problem could also be with the ignition switch.

Is the security light on? I had this happen to my car. Disconnected the battery for five minutes and the car started right up.

check out the chip on the key, and also look at the ignition, the key hold might be worn out, and not letting the chip make contact.

that could be it. Im thinking its a problem with the ignition itself, we tried his regular key, and the spare, neither work. they both seem to be in good condition

Disconnect the aftermarket alarm and start there. Aldo check/replace the starter relay if you haven't already done so.
