port and polish?

so i'm just looking to lightly modify my car for a few speed mods and hopefully stay under 1500 or so, i was looking at going with a lid, exhaust, and a port and polish possibly. is a port and polish along with a tune going to do much for me at this point, and how much could i expect to pay for this?

I wouldnt worry about the heads at this point and time.

I would get an ls6 intake, full exhaust, and a cam.

You'll see close to 400rwhp depending on the size of a cam and it will be plenty fast. Once you get all of that taken care of you can focus on the heads, suspension/chassis mods, etc.

Or you can go a different route and get all of your suspension/chassis mods out of the way first.

ported heads, with tune, net about 35 rwhp. just the heads alone will eat up your $1500.00. just like redlinels1 said, go with the full exhaust first. simple theory to live by, if you can't get it out, you can't get it in. if you look for all the cheapest exhaust parts, you'll be under $1000.00.
