Low beams keep blowing

Ive probably replaced my low beams 3 times since october... I have no clue why they are blowing other that constant use because I mostly drive it at night.. second shift/ DD. Im going to try a lot of dielectric grease on this one.. any other tips...

no i dont touch the bulb..

got me a pair of those cotton car show gloves...

check the sockets and make sure those are good. Both headlights are blowing at the same time?

low beams keep blowing... sockets appear fine. getting good 12v source.. i think i gonna get the harness/socket just to be safe.

are u still using the stock sealed beams?? or did you upgrade to the plastic housing with halogen bulb inserts???

Stockies.. im about to buy some hids because im sure they last longer/easier to change and im spending right at 14 a bulb everytime mine blows...

harness/dielectric grease is comming up.. last time I changed the bulb that blew was around xmas...

touching a sealed beam is ok. its the halogen bulbs that "twist" in you dont wanna touch (i.e: our fog lamp replacement bulbs)

Its icing up a storm so I went drifiting and got my adjusters and 2 low beams... good to go now.. greased the crap outta them and now they appear to work quite fine.. just gotta put the covers back on when my knees that back out...

thanks for all the help.. and gotta love the suttle differences in 98 cars..

but i still ponder why my car loves eating bulbs all the time...

my car was doing that for a while too. Started using the lube for the connector to prevent moisture from getting in and blowing the bulb and I haven't lost a bulb since.

Check the grounds on top of the radiator support. Make sure they are clean, and tight. They are for the headlamps respectively, one on each side.
If the headlamp voltage has a hard time going to ground, it will cause the bulbs to burn too hot/burn out.

where can you getr hids for trans ams and how much$$
