Need a little more info.....you have a A4 or stick? Is the car jerking, hesitating, slipping...what?

it is a stick. when i accelerate it takes a half second to get going. this happens in any gear and some times it doesn't happen. it is like it is catching its breath. brand new clutch. this was happening b4 and after the new clutch.

Is your K&N air filter clean? Clean your MAF sensor with electrical cleaner, and while you've got that off, clean the inside of your throttle body. Now is also a good time to reset your car's computer.
Other considerations are fuel and ignition. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Or cleaned your injectors? How about spark plugs (& wires)? Have they ever been changed? Since your car is six years old, if these haven't been done, it's time to do them as well.

It's quite possible that the flap has some residue on it that will cause it to stick just enough to cause lag in acceleration.. Hey it's worth a shot...

I think you have to hold the key down in the"acc" position for like seven seconds...i'm not sure, it's in the owner's manual though.

Turn key on but don't start car.
Pull PCM BAT and PCM IGN fuses in engine compartment fuse boxes.
Wait like 5-10 minutes
Turn ignition off.
Replace fuses
I would highly recommend replacing the fuel filter if you havent done so. it only takes like 10 minutes. Just make sure you dont have your mouth open.

It's actually better to disconnect the batt to clear the comp. Put the ignition to run but don't start it...disconnect battery and let sit for 10 mintues. That completely clears the comp and any stored energy that maintains memory. Take key out and reconnect the batt...there's also a certain driving procedure you have to do.
