    New owner....headlight woes

Recently picked up a 2002 WS6. Get in it tonight and the headlights pop up, but the passenger light isn't working; neither the low beams or the highbeams. Any ideas on the problem? I searched the threads and seems like most people have issues with the gears or motors. Is there a switch in the housing that turns the lights on when they flip up or do the lights come on automatically and then flip? I am thinking since neither the highs or lows work, it is a connection gone bad somewhere. Please help!!

You have to pull the dash-headlight knob off, pull the dash off( it just pops off when you pull it toward you) then remove and replace the switch. I would look for short or bad connection first though. Good luck!

Check your headlight connection, if you pull off the front plastic shield you should be able to reach in and check to see if it has fallen out, which did happen to me once. Otherwise, you can probably pull it out just far enough to see if anything has gone awry w/ the connector.

Thanks for the advice. I managed to pull the connectors off tonight and the prongs on the light itself did look a little corroded. The harness connectors seemed to be a little on the corroded side too. Can you purchase the harness connector at a local parts store or would it be better to just cut off the wire connector and use two female wire connectors to hook it back up?

Come to find out, it was the bulbs. Finally some time tonight at a friends garage to look into it more closely. Thought thats what it was, but both the high and the low beams going out at the same time made me think it may be more. The high beam may have been out for a while, the connector looked like it had gotten a little hot. Most of my driving is in the city so I wouldn't have noticed the high beam being out at first. Thanks for all the help though!
