TA woes.
Ok so a few months ago my car randomly thumped hard and then made a horrid whine. I limped it home and pulled it apart. the flex plate was rubbing the oil pan. I got a job and saved up. Finally put in a TCI flex plate with ARP bolts. Now i figured this has to fix it. It Made it about a 1/4 mile down the fucking road and it did it again. Now i changed my oil aswell and found a peice of metal about the size of a pencil tip on the drain plug magnet. I was sketched out about it but said fuck it. Now im lost. If it was a bearing it should be knocking i thought. Now i dont know what to fucking do. Ive been without my car for months and had to barrow my dads truck. it SUCKS.

hmm. for the flex plate to be rubbing the oil pan sounds like the crank is walking forward. Which would very well mean a rebuild and new crank. How every I know very little about these motors, internally anyways.
The small piece of metal may be a needle bearing from the rockers, seem they are known for spitting them out from time to time.
