You can run on a stock motor with low boost for a while but it won't last past about 110K miles. But basics are new injectors, fuel pump, forged bottom end, pistons, milled heads, custom grind cam, maybe even an iron block if you wanna get serious.

Might be a good excuse to add a few cubes. At least you could kind of take things in steps, granted that is still a big step. If you start off with small amounts of boost you should be relatively safe for the short term.

You'll definately want a tune to keep everything as rich as possible to keep from detonation. The stock LS1 is already like a 10-1 compression ratio so everythings gotta be remapped so you don't blow the motor.

383 should be a good combo with the right boost. Turbo or S/C?

You'll probably need to step up the injectors. I run 60# ones.. but of course I'm crazy and like to go overboard on everything I buy.
It's easy to say "as long as you keep the boost low the stock block will be ok" but I had a hard time doing that. Up here I wanted more power so I went for it... and now I get to shop for a new engine.

Not necessarily. It all depends on your comp. ratio and what size cam and heads you have.

112 LSA in an auto?! Thats a first for me! I thought general rule was autos didn't go over 113 LSA unless motor was fully built.

I wanted the nasty lope, I could give a damn. Seems to putting down some decent numbers, she doesn't hate me too much. Why? What's wrong with 112lsa?

Heard it was rough on tranny output but since u have a built tranny I guess it doesn't make a difference.
