500hp which clutch?????
ok guys my clutch is officialy shot!!!! belive im gonna have new era performance do the work and possibly buy the parts from them....i would lilke to but they dont sell a ls7 kit.......my car has an lpe 383 stroker....puts down 400 rwhp currently w/out long tubes which are my only planned future mod thats going to increase hp..prolly put me around 430rwhp 500 flywheel.........so suggestions??? which clutch/flywheel? .....the ones i have in mind are the ls7 kit, ram stage 2 or 3, or spec 2+ or 3+ .......everyone seems to have good and bad storys for every clutch which makes it impossible to choose it seems....oh and my car is a 2001 so im thinking i DONT need a new master slave cyl and the peddle pressure feels great................i would choose the ls7 kit but i feel better about new era backing there work AND the parts if i buy everything from them if u were to run into problems........make sense? thanks in advance everyone

I'm in the same boat, but I'm purchasing a Tex/steel billet flywheel- it might be a little over kill but oh well! I've heard good things about the RAMs, and personally I dont care too much for Spec's but thats just my opinion! Good luck on your choice!

I have a billet flywheel and a Spec Stage 3 and have about 400rwhp and I like it. You have to be careful on the break in, but after that, its all good. the 3+ is supposed to be more street friendly than the regular stage 3 and is stronger.

Mine has a RAM clutch in it from the PREVIOUS owner. I have tortured that clutch like a POW for 12K miles. Track, street, and just plain playing hell with it.
For the FIRST time last week it slipped a little on a 1-2 powershift. But, I tortured it a little this weekend, and she didn't slip a bit. STILL might be good. I know one thing, if I get another clutch its gonna be the same one. A RAM!Heads 'n Cammed, Moser 12, 3.73's, Weight Reduction, 13" Brembo Kit
BMR track suspension, full exhaust, the works...
412whp/394wtq 1/4 mile slip coming soon!

I have no idea. The prev owner said he just recently installed a new RAM clutch, I just took his word for it. He didn't lie about anything so far when it came to pre-buy details. Matter of fact, he left out some important upgrades he had done.
The only thing I haven't done to that car is take the engine out, or remove the bellhousing. I have done just about everything else.
I would suspect it was the Street/Strip clutch. I think it is rated up to 600 HP. Don't quote me on that Tony.

It does sound like a fair price. I would pay 300 just to have someone else have that particular headache. I am a die-hard-do-it-yourselfer, but on taking that tranny out using two jackstands and a regular jack by myself, I will pass.

hmmm... I might actually just get a RAM HD instead of spending $1000 for a tex! I'll spend the difference on something else!
~~~so what do you think of it so far tonyjnjz?
ok first impressions after 20 miles ..ram HD with new bilet flywheel.....clutch pedel is SUPER stiff but engagment is ultra smoooth compared with the spec 3 i previously had...engagment is immediate off the floor..not sure if this is right but i like it....will it become less stiff after it breaks in?? will the engagment spot come up some?? ill let everyone know how it holds after its boken in..gonna be a while...so far i really like it..very easy to drive if u have a strong leg and dont do much heavy traffic driving which i do not
