    Cam Choice?

I have a 2000 Camaro SS - 6speed. My Goal is 400+ RWHP through the mods I have in my sig and set of ported LS1/LS6 Heads and a LS6 Intake in the future. I need a cam with good idle and drivability. My car isnt a daily driver but I dont want to have the car fighting to stay alive at a stop light. I would like the idle to stay close to stock.

Mods: CAI Lid, Granatelli MAF, Pacesetter LT's and ORY, Magnaflow Cat Back, SPEC Stage 3 Clutch, JET Chip, BMR Tower Brace, BMR Sub Connectors, Lakewood Sway Bars, Traction Ctrl Arms, KYB Adj. Shocks, 1.3" Springs, 18" C5 Wheels.

    you will hit it w/ a 236/236 .595/.595 114+2

i have pretty much the same one cept i have .602 lift inatkae and exhaust so i needed the pistons flycut. w/ the 114 you will get a nice idle w/ no searching and a cam thatll scream. and you wont need heads.

I've got a TSP 235/240 .605"/.609" 111.5+2 and with TSP/PRC stage 1 heads with a valve job, ls6 intake, ported tb, lid, and true duals it put about 435 to the wheels. That might be a little bigger than your looking for but it idles great and lopes hard at about 800 rpm and hasn't been bad at all driving it around town.

Check out Thunder Racing, one of our sponsors and check out their cams. On a couple they give you Dyno graphs, all their cams have specs and comments like what RPM the cam is most effective and what should be used with that particular cam choice. It should give you a rough idea on what you should look for in a cam. Personally, I chose the TR230 revese split cam. Pretty soon I need a custom turbo cam.
