Red- 1998 Trans Am Ws6
Raced a sti today!
Today was my first race of the year. I was just cruzing down by the park when i see a new sti going really slow, he must of been waiting for me. So we meet up and decide to go run them. First we run from a dead stop and i spun the tires completely through first gear and he jumped to a about a 1 1/2 cars on me maybe 2. When i finally caught i started to pull him back in but we stoped at about 80. A little farther and i could of passed him. So the next time we went from about 15-20 mph roll and i pulled right away had about 2 cars by 80 and a pulling but he backed off. I have a 1998 trans am ws6 a4 with 16,500 miles and it's all stock beside's loud mouth 2 exhaust. And his car was 2005 sti stock i think. I was very suprized how quick that thing was out of the hole. I need to work on my launch i guess that is the first time i have had spin that bad. The road we were on was very dirty and not very good traction but still no excuse!

good run, yeah they're quick out of the hole -they're AWD. You get jumpy when you get to race and usually screw something up, that's just how it is lol.
Now somebody give me credit for knowing the difference betwee their there and they're. Next week we will study the letter E

The STi, or the Evo, will most likely always have the hole shot on the streets, even if you have drag radials (Unless you like breaking parts heating up your drag radials on the street, or sending out Indian Pow Wow Signals to the cops of a race). If you have good gearing you can fend their advantage slightly.
I use to own an Evo, and could punch out a 1.8 sec. 60' on street tires 99% of the time. The STi is even more dangerous, as it has alot more torque down low. They typically fall on their face after the 1/8th mile if they are stock though.
In any event, good run. I think you would've pulled past him had he stayed in it to 100.

Nice races man.
Always run Evos/STi's from a roll if you can, you'll destroy them

well, at least, good attempted kill. It would've been yours if you two had stayed in it.

wait until you run an F1, or an enzo. What? that's different? how? Run what you see on the streets, and shutup about what else is out there. That gets old in EVERY thread. I don't give a damn how fast a civic or anything CAN be until I run it on the street

I do admit, though, that there's nothing like a roll-on torque monster. Real world power is n-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-ce.

Those turbo AWD cars are basically unbeatable from a stoplight unless you have serious mods.
Yeah, with the right power, you can run one down. But, by then you're going 100 or more. Not so safe to keep racing past that most of the time.
Those things are definitely stoplight demons.
Why the lame, "oh yeah, well my car is cheaper to mod" crap???? Just appreciate another fast car already!!!!
