Red face How do you check voltage going to Idle air control valve?

I had a new computer installed some days ago and now the car don't want to start in the morning.I have to hold the pedal at idle speed until it gets warm enough to idle on it's own and that's at about 400rpms sometimes 500 after it's been run and the temp reads about 190 or so, could this be related to the computer install or something that just happen? the car still runs great, but idle is worring me, how can I check the voltage to the valve before I spend $90.00 for nothing?

Check fuel pressure before you do anything else. A hard starting car, or one that cranks a while before firing may have a weak fuel pump or a filter in need of replacement. If fuel pressure is good, then pull your lid and clean both your MAF and throttle body. I am not certain that you can check the IAC with a voltmeter - it has two pairs of high and low signal wires. May need a scan tool if you want to see IAC data. Is your SES on?

Also, check your throttlebody where the IAC goes for any buildup of carbon. That could cause your IAC to stick.

^^ Great point. A good hosing with spray throttle body cleaner and a careful wipe down can work wonders.
