picking up a 96 WS6
welp, i have been waiting for a few years and i am now ready to strike. i have been looking for a car to KEEP for a LONG time and i think i found it. i know a lot of people hate on the LT1 but she is a gem. i found a 32k mile 96 WS6 T/A that is in perfect shape. will be picking her up monday!!! i don't think i will do much with her other than putting on a borla. i had the borla on my 95 formy and was in heaven. sold my 95 formy 7 years ago this month and i guess the circle will be complete
will be nice to have a toy on the garage that i only drive on nice days and can take the wife out at night like we used to do when we were dating
i just wanted to post because i feel like a little kid before xmas!! thanks!

love the lt1 styled TA ws6. best looking 4th gen TA period, imo, outside the ls1 styled firehawk. congrats on the new toy!!!

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I saw a WS6 JUST LIKE that one at a local car show last week and fell in love as I haven't seen an LT1 WS6 in years.

well my second favorite color is silver.

yeah, i can't remember the last time i saw a LT1 T/A in my area much less an LT1 WS6 T/A. i'm not sure why but i hardly see any 4th gens at all anymore. mostly see V6s or camaros.
i'm freaking out here at work... going to leave in about an hour... it's a 6 hour round trip to get the car... grrrrr, why can't time go faster!?!?!?!?

so is there differences in the lt1 ws6 rear compared to the ls1 ws6 rear? (besides the tail lights) that one looks more aggressive than the ls1 cars.

Looks great, i would def check all the fluids. A 96 with 32kmiles does ALOT of sitting. My buddy picked up a 95 formula with 35kmiles on it and 2 days later the tranny was toast. Hopefully you have better luck

Man, that thing looks sick as hell, congratulations on your new ride.
You get a decent drop for that, clean it up real good and add in a nice tint, you will be completley set in the look's department. Those car's look pretty much perfect IMHO from the factory but those few thing's I just mentioned would just really make it look astonishing, IMO.

naw, it is pretty much just the front end that stands out.
well just got home from my 6+ hour round trip picking her up... was well worth it even though it rained HARD the whole way home it was still fun getting to know her. it isn't perfect but in damn nice shape for a 14 year old car. got her home and had to peel off the tint the dude had on the side windows.. not only was it starting to go all barney but it was scratched in some spots... the back window tint is dark and looks great so that will stay.... i also had to take off the K&N stickers on the airbox and a few other silly stuff.. he also had an aftermarket sony in there that was bugging out the whole way home... i barely had any tunes.... i yanked that bastard out as soon as i got home and put the factory TAPE player back injust for now anyway...
i'm going to be looking at lowering it but i think the factory shocks will need to be replaced at 14+ years old.
here are a few pics the wife took on her phone before we started the 3+ hour trip home (more to follow tomorrow):

congrats, looks beautiful. And i'm jealous, i wish i still had a factory radio to throw back in mine. even it if it is just a tape player lol

very nice looking car and a great colour too
Tell me..... All of the "made for the european market" cars have the rear lights you have, so how is it that some of your cars have them also, as i went out of my way to make sure the one i imported had honeycomb lights?
Just curious as to how the builds went???

Got that thing is sick looking! Congrats on the car man.
I had an LT1 Corvette up till a few weeks ago. Is the car auto or 6-speed? Watch out for the opti if it has been sitting. Seriously, I would yank the plugs, wires, fuel filter, check the ohms on the injectors and the fuel pressure just to make sure everything is in order.
I was going to get a 33k miles 96 formula 6-speed a few years ago from the original owner. It was a great car but got a new GTO instead, you have quite find on your hands! Where abouts in NY are you located?
Congrats again man and that is one mean looking T/A!
