Hard up/downshift in 2nd....shift kit/bad tranny?

Ok guys I got another question about the 99' z28 i picked up about three days ago, it has 130,000 miles and its in really good condition for the mileage. It runs really well, only issues are little things (i hope) it needs a basic tune up but all in all it runs well..... anyways ive been noticing the second gear upshift and downshift are a lot firmer (much more aggresive) than the others, it doesnt feel bad so to speak but its so much firmer that i have come to the concluson that the car either has a shift kit or the tranny has a problem (maybe going out?) i've had two prior ls1's, m6's though, and im 99.999999% positive that an auto car (especially with 130k) doesnt shift like this stock, it grabs second like as if it were and m6......so is there a way to tell if the car has a shift kit, preferably just by looking underneath? or is my tranny fawked? wat else could it be?


oh and i dont know if this has anything to do with the shifting issue but every now and then when i take off kind of hard from a dead stop you hear a little noise that sounds like someone skidding there shoes on a gym floor? it faint but if you listen for it you can hear it......(and no its not the tires, i know wat that sounds like, lol)

It could have been tuned to increase shift firmness with a hand held.

That cant be good for a transmission with 130k wright?
