blower motor replacement,any tips

getting ready to replace my blower motor just want to know the best way to get to it and any helpful tips would be great. 98 t/a

have you ruled out the relay? Just didn't want you swapping the motor if you don't have too. I've never done one on an f-body but I'm pretty sure you can probably get to it from under the glove box.

It's actually remakably easy - a 20 minute job. Pull down the plactic cover under the dash - it's held in place with push pins in front and a metal clip against the firewall in back. The motor is on the bottom of the heater box. Remove the three screws from the motor, disconnect the wire and replace. Then put the panel back.

that sounds very simple thanks,and im pretty sure its not the relay when u first start the car its fine and then it starts slowing down it never completly stops just not vey comfartable when the temp gets below 40

It is very easy... I just did mine two days ago in a 2000 T/A Ram Air. There are two push pins that you can pull out with a pair of pliers underneath the glove box, one on the right, the other on the left, and it will just drop down. There is a round hole on the plastic cover near the firewall that fits over the firewall stud. Be careful, mine had bugs and leaves on the foam when you drop the cover down. Clean it and place it out of the way. The motor will be right there with the squirrel cage fan facing upward. Disconnect the purple/black wire from the motor and with a 9/32" socket, remove the 3 screws holding the motor. Plug in the new motor to the purple/black wire and turn the key to "on" position, not "accessory", and make sure fan operates at all speeds. If it operates satisfactorily, turn off key and unplug motor. Install new motor, making sure the black rubber grommets fit all the way down on the pedestals, and install each of the 3 screws. Don't tighten too much, you don't want to strip them out, you are screwing into plastic! Just snug is fine. Plug the purple/black wire back into the motor, reinstall the plastic cover underneath the glove box making sure the hole in the cover is around the firewall stud and push the pins in toward the front on the left and right of the glove box. Easy!!
