Electrical Gremlins
I got in my car (99 T/A M6 w/109k miles) tonight and now there is an electrical problem. Radio does not work, no power mirrors, trunk release wont work, and the only gauges that work are water temp, volts, oil pressure. It was late and dark so I figured I will start looking at things tomorrow. I will start with fuses, but what else can I check?
Yesterday I just finished replacing the headlight gear in pass side. I have not done any other electrical stuff lately. Thanks for any insight or help.

check around the headlight to be sure you didn't cut/ ground a hot wire 1st, I bet you just popped a fuse.

Sounds like a couple things.
1. Check the grounds by the headlight motor. There should be a few. Mighta cut/snagged one.
2. Check all fuses.
3. If those are good then undo the battery cable and check for corrosion.
4. If problem still exists then it could be your BCM which is an easy fix if you can solder.

Or just throw the old BCM away, and replace it like I did, and not even worry about it again. I had most of the same problems with my Camaro too. New BCM fixed. But Josh hates when you throw away a BCM....... JK hehe

On the BCM there are 2 clips, right? And I think they should just unplug when I push the plastic tab and pull, well I got one, but the bigger one I couldn't unplug no matter how hard I pulled on it....so is that why you say I would have to do some soldering?
going ot check wires and fuses now, damn its freaking toasty outside!

it was the pwr accy fuse on the drivers side dash fuse box. FML, that was easy. I was worried it was something more serious, and that would suck since I have a road trip coming up, and dont like driving with no speedo.
would it blow from either the BCM or ECM starting to go bad?
