Gremlins??

I came out of the gym today after about an hour workout and my headlights were on... They were off when I went in... WTF? My battery was almost dead... Luckily the car started. The switch was not on, it was on the auto setting. I have been paranoid and looking out the window for the last two hours to make sure it doesn't happen again. Anyone else had this happen to them?

Happened to me once. The key can be removed from the ignition lock cylinder without turning the key all the way back to the off position. Since that one time, I just turn the key all the way off.

That might have been it. All is dark outside so far...

If it happens again, just put the key in the ignition and turn it to off til the tumbler stops.

I went outside and did it just to be sure... I had my car do the safety mode thing a couple weeks ago so I have been really paranoid about the computer. Thanks for the help. It was driving me f#$%ing crazy.

Same thing happened to me, drained my battery completely. Jumped her with my father's Civic, drove her for 30 minutes, and it was fine. Since then Ive been keeping an ear out for the click that comes after you take the key out, hasnt happened since.

when I shut the car off I wait a minute or two for the radio to turn off then I get out of the car

My car did something like that. The lights would stay on after parking, and so would the radio. maybe its the ignition switches freezeing up. Cause when you take the key out it should be a click like someone said earlier, and whenever i pull my key out the radio cuts off. usually. Is this normal? everybody says the door has to be opened before it cuts off, but mine cuts off when the key is removed.

mine stays on if the door is shut, but most of the time (i smoke) the door is already opened as I roll the windows up then shut the car off

Yeah mine cuts off when I take the key out as well.
