Well I would be a lot further along, but I been waiting on a transmission for a month. I'm getting my money back. I'm thinking about getting a power glide w trans brake now. I think it will fit my setup pretty well. Once I get a trans I can get the motor set in place and get all my little things done.

Ease of using just about any motor for a project car.
You can make on the spot adjustments with not much need for a laptop or a professional tuner..
No PCM persay= no SES lights for things that don't need to be on an engine to begin with..
Partly the reason I went stand alone on the TT build..
It does'nt need all the extra electronics to operate the engine..
Then there's also the fact that with a carb the engine bay on a custom is usually much more neat.. No octopus of wire bundles running everywhere..
Just engine.. As it should be..Last edited by Smittro; 12-09-2010 at 04:59 AM.

Gonna need some clamps on all the couplers.
Have you gave the car a name yet? I think Brutus would be a good one. I've seen these cars with LS1s in them. Very beastly. But with an LST....Well that should be a traction challenged queen.....lol These cars are so light weight as it is. I see a 13 second car with a 160 mph trap. You might be 3/4 down the track before it hooks...lol
It looks great. Can't wait to hear its dyno results. I'm guessing 800s on a light tune.(pump gas)

Sorry guys its been a min since I've been on here, been trying to finish this project. If all my fuel fittings come in this week I'm going to fire it up this weekend. As for the carb, no lack of tuner, I've always done all my own tuning on the laptop, I'm just tired of injection, wiring is a hassle and seems like there is ALWAYS a problem. + with a carb the engine bay is super clean. I have never ran a blow threw setup, this is my first so its a learning experience for me. As for hp, I won't put down 800 lol, its a BONE stock 5.3, all the way down to the stock rod bolts, I wanna see wat these motors will truly hold, I have heard a lot of stories, on a serious note I think the most I will make is 650 on pump gas. Traction will not be an issue either, I've got the suspension
Setup pretty well, but will see wat the bumper looks like after a transbrake launch.

650 is very respectable. Especailly with a light weight, like a 240. Spool time should be a low rpm too.
The Supra spools around 2300 to 2600 rpm. An LS should be around 1800 or less. Did you lower your compression, or keep the stock size head gaskets?

Its stock compression, stock head gaskets, I've not touched anything internally, I'm going to start out around 10psi and get a good tune on it, I'm going to keep it a little rich around 12.0-12.4, then ill gradually up the boost to somewere around 15-20psi.

I would get a meth kit. You want to be very careful of detonation. That is mainly what it is there for. Most of us meth junkies just add more boost. It's about 500 or so for the kit. Plus about $30 to refill a 5 gal container. I used the windshield wash container, because it hold a gal, instead of the 1 pint container that comes with the kit. Depending of your driving habits, 1 gal can last you a week or a month. Since I used the ww reservoir, I have the low fluid light when it is low.

I am running a water intercooler, so it will have ice in it when I'm at the track making hard passes, shouldn't. Have much issue's with detonation. But ur right it does kill the motors quick.

Well if you are just running at the track, the IC would be the way to go. I thought you might be terrorizing C6 Z06s on the streets....lol

I will only need half throttle for the street boys lol, I am going to drive it on the street, but I won't be making much of a show till I hit the track, but thanks for the alky advice, I may use it in the future, just not on my to do list yet.

Well after several months of battling motor issue's I'm finally making some progress again. Ended up with a 5.3 block punched to 5.7 scat h-beam rods, je forged pistons, arp everuthing, 614lift comp turbo cam etc. Here's the 1st start.
