Carriers usually run around 350-450 depending on brand. Detroit lockers and lockers in general are normally used in 4wd vehicles but they do make them for GM 8 7/8, Ford 9", Dana 60, Ford 8.8, etc rear ends.

In my opinion if you are going to build out of a 10 bolt I would choose an Auburn Pro Series or Eaton Limited slip. But beware, with more power that you add the risk of breaking a 10 bolt rearend increases. You can break any rearend with abuse but with a 10 bolt you can't hammer on it all day everyday. Overall just use caution.

I am running 3.42's with an Auburn Pro Series diff. with Fuzion ZR tires
I have yet to break my 10 bolt and I'm pushin 460-480 @ the rear wheels, I would call it luck and being easy on it.

I paid $400.00 for the install of my Motive 3.90's and I supplied ALL of the parts (ring and pinion plus the Motive master install kit).
