what will it cost to get stock heads ported
i was just wondering if it would be better to get someone to port my 99 ls1 heads or be cheap and do them myself. so does anyone have a price range

Just order TSP's ported and polished LS6 heads there not very expensive.

I can only speak for the area that I am in (Maryland) and most guys are between 800 and 1k for a full hand porting job.

Knowing thats how much its gonna cost to get them done definately go with the heads i mentioned about you can get them for the high end of the price range he mentioned above.

I wouldn't suggest doing it yourself, unless you've got a flow-bench just sitting around.... There used to be a local guy here that did an exchange for $600, and he was getting them to flow great numbers.

$600.00 wouldn't be a bad price at all! That would make the $2,000. head porting and cam swap route possible! Most of my research from around here indicates that it would cost around $800 - $1,000. for a hand porting job.

2,000 for head and cam swap is easily attainable
1k for heads
600 for cam package with valve springs and pushrods
Only things left are Head Gaskets and Head Bolts and if you want a new timing chain and oil pump.
