If you are smart take this advice.

1. Lawyer up now and get a good one start filing paper work and get her off the bank account and credit cards.

2. Hire a P.I get proof of her drinking and driving, and being with other men (usually when they ask to seperate it seems another man is involved or will be soon).

3. I would also make sure to find all document on your healt problems and get those in order so the judge does not rape your settlement and give it to her incase the top two do not work (but they usually do)

I'm with this person. Divorces always at least 90 % end up dirty. You need to start protecting your self and look out for you and your kids only. do not help her no matter how much you love her. Heck my x-wife got me for $22k cash.

ouch...figuring from what my attorney has informed me..My work comp case is ballpark around 350,000-475,000(arm and back included)I stand to lose 20%,If it goes to the extent..After hearing this..I want to remain as civil as can be...22K is still a kick in the ass,but if you do the math on 20% of 475,000.(thank god This claim is in Illinois ,where I lived all my life up till a year ago)she can get a decent amount.I don't think this is fair...but,I am not going to agree 20%!!!Especially of the way she is handling this...

I still give her gas money,lunch money,and I still pay for the out to eat crap...but I have to try and get along,and not be an ass in front of the kids..This is hard not to do,as I've been told.Half of everyone tells me I should cut her off entirely,and half people tell me that I am doing the right thing.I guess I will know when to stop.I saved a hell of alot for christmas though...

Bought a new house, replaced all the carpeting..$3k in all. The back room where the computer is, I decided to bring in a crapload of recently derusted brackets, throttle cables, etc to sell on Ebay.

A week after I brought the parts in, the carpet began to fade. The muratic acid fumes got into the carpet and "bleached" it.

I now wash all parts before bringing them in the house, and NO I do not have a water heater and fridge on the front porch.

Marriage was made in favor of women..probably thought up by a woman IMO. I can't think of one damn reason a guy would want to get married....besides any tax deduction. If a marriage fails the guy is the one that gets shafted...I just don't see the point. I know this is no help but I just had to say it.

If all she gets is 20% and she would agree in writing up front.... Without ANY hassle, without ANY coming back later for more, and without ANY argument or additional crap.... Take it and run... It nay not be fair but it will likely be a while lot less expensive than what she will end up with if this goes the distance...

BigRus gives you some great advise. I would be remiss if I failed to mention the kids here. Never ever talk bad about their Mama in front of them. I don't care what she tells them or how often she slams you in front of them. Never speak bad about her in front of the kids. Focus on the kids. Let the lawyers and the "system" work it's way through things....stay focused on being a good Dad for your kids. It will significantly help you through this time in your life......

You got it sarge..Thats why I am trying to be as civil as I can..paying her gas,lunch,etc..showing the kids that I am still trying to make things as easy as possible....it's not too easy though..how can one want no part of someone..but on the other hand as soon as you get a little money,they have their hand out faster,and now they want to reap the benefits.I would have no problem sharing my casino win..but this whole thing has put a bad shot in me..
