Running lean
Ok so bought my 02 WS6 29k orig mi with a brand new ZO6 LS6 in it pretty much stock except for a Comp cam headers and a couple other things. Anyway engine light came on so I just took it to Autozone to get an idea of what was going on . The code said bank 1 & 2 lean . My question is do I have to find a special Tuner / Dyno since the motor is not stock ? Or can I just take it to a Reg mech to have this fixed ? I put about 1400 mi on the car and new motor so far with no issues , overall the motor only has about 1500 mi on it.

You would be better off finding a shop that does a lot of fbodys, but really any good mechanic should be able to help you.

Sounds like you need a tune since you mentioned you have a cam. Check with Frost. He's a site sponsor and can get you pointed in the right direction.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
Let Steve do the job, he is one of the best with F-Bodies. BTW, just got our 2004 GTO computer back. Installed in a few minutes and let the wife, 51 years young, drive it for reprogram and it now runs and shifts (AUTO) fantastic. We drove out to PA on 84 West and nobody on the road. Down goes the gas pedal and the car just flew. Before we knew it we were doing 130mph. Thank you Steve. My wife fell in love with her Goat all over again.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

However, if it is lean both banks a lot of times it ends up being a dirty MAF. You still running one or are you SD? Also a weak fuel pump will cause both to be lean, as will a vacuum leak.

Well sounds like theres a few things to check . And yes running a Granitelli MAF . The prev owner sent the PCM to LSX Solutions after all the updrades and I have'nt done anything diff to the engine. Would more money for a Frost tune be of any benefit ? Any idea on an approx cost ? It's prob one of those compare apples to apples thing.
Thanks

I think Frost mail order tunes are about $150. If you've put about 1400 miles on it and now this suddenly is happening, then it most likely is not a tune related issue. I'd check or have someone check the basics first, like mentioned above.
Although, if it was borderline lean for a while, it can run fine almost on the verge of setting the code and then it finally sets and turns on the light. You'd have to check the fuel trims, and see if you can see your O2 sensors respond. Also, sometimes coatings on the inside of the headers can foul the O2 sensors and cause fuel trim problems. If it runs great on WOT, then that usually proves out the fuel pump/filter, since the engine would be noticably down on power.

Look over fuel pressure, and check for vacuum leaks. I would seriously consider a dyno tune though. Mail order is good, but after you start changing internals like the cam you're better off putting it on a dyno.
