ms4 cam upgrade ?s
so i just ordered the ms4 cam package from texas speed and performance and it comes with the vale train uprade springs retainer ex. im planning on getting the ported oil pump and a dyno tune or there any more upgrades that i will need to take in to mind or?

yea im replacing all of the gaskets but what is the bore on the head gaskets i noticed texas speed and performance has like three diffrent bore sizes? the only mods i have are pacesetter long tubes lid bellow just put brand new six speed in it and of course a clutch

im getting them ported and polished and if i dont just so its easier to put the back spring and ret.

the ms4 will fit with no other modifications like flycutting right?

I don't think you need to cut the fly wheel with the ms4 but you diffidently need to get the hardened push rods with any cam upgrade.

cool thanks so i called texas speed and performance today its going to cost $750 for porting and polishing my 243 heads and another $400 for the dyno tune but it will be all worth it im also uprading to the ported ls6 oil pump

Good luck, a buddy is making 420ish at the wheels w/ that cam and a fast intake. Driven by his friend on street tires he hit high 11's.

You will not have to fly cut the pistons for this camshaft

I'm thinking about getting an MS4 also. Why is it too big? What is flycutting a piston and why does it need to be done?

The cam pushes the limits of piston-to-valve clearance.
Flycutting opens up small valve reliefs to add clearance.
That cam also wants a 4000+ stall in an automatic, along with 4.10's.
It likes 4.56's in the M6.
All in the set-up. Those large cams can make cars fast, but not without other mods.
