Chevy, Dodge, or Ford??
I know this is a "Chevy" website but try to be unbiased! I'm kinda looking into getting a truck possibly and I've looked at Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. I want a quad-cab, V-8, and 4x4. So far I've looked into the Ford F-150 FX4, Dodge Ram 1500 4x4, and the Chevy Z-71. I really don't like the looks of the Chevy trucks so I kinda got away from that one, but does anyone know which of the other 2 might be the best bet. I'm looking at a 2004-2005 model. I REALLY like the FX-4, but it's around $30,000 whereas the Dodge Ram 1500 Quad-Cab 4x4 is around $23,000. Is there something I need to know about Dodge trucks before I seriouslly look into it cause that $7000 difference is a little hard to swallow? I didn't know if maybe Ford (and Chevy for that matter) is just high priced on their trucks or what cause the Dodges are a lot less expensive.

My uncle sells Mac Tools which is his own business, so he gets a new truck usually every 2 years cause he can just write them off. Right now he's driving the Quad cab Dodge 4x4 and loves it. 2 years ago he had the Ford and loved it, but said it really needed more power.
Go Ford or Dodge.
Stay away from Chevy and Imports.

Chevy needs to change the look, I wouldn`t buy one, ford is better than dodge in my opinion but I like the dodges look better.

I have an 05 chevy w/the new aluminum block 5.3 315hp and I love it, I do think it is about time for the chevys to be updated. I'll be lifting mine soon but stock for stock I think the fords do look better. So if you don't want the chevy, I would say go for a ford. They're way more dependable.

I've heard Dodge has had a lot of problems with their transmissions. One friend had a Neon that the tranny went out on and then a guy down the street from me has a Dodge Ram 2500 and the tranny went out on it the first week he had it. I really want that FX4, but gas is a killer!!!!

The Ford is better looking than the Chevy but Ford sux. Everyone I know that's owned a ford has had problems from day one. My dad bought an Expedition and had to take it into the shop 3 times before it's first oil change. He vowed never to buy a ford again. He's owned 4 dodge trucks for over the past decade with no problems. Your better off with a dodge or even a toyota if you can find one at a good price.

All I have to say is....The 07 Powerstroke now has twin turbos enstead of just one...Wait till banks gets ahold of that. It's going to put chevy and dodge to shame.

Graystone- 2006 Silverado Z-71
I just got rid of my 2004 GTO and bought a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 Ext. Cab Z-71 with the 5.3L. I really like it so far. My buddy has an 2006 Ford FX4 and he really likes his. IMO, six of one, half dozen of the other. It comes down to what you like. All the trucks have good things and bad things about them. I have had a 1992 Chevy 1500 Ext cab 4x4 for 8years. I bought it off of my parents when I was 16. They had it for 4 years before I bought it. I am now just selling it because I don't need two trucks. It has been a great truck and I hate to see it go. I put an new engine in it at 185,000 and besides the paint and some minor rust, Big Chev' is still like a rock!

if you get a dodge with a hemi make sure it comes with a gas station,my son leased a 2003 and opted put of his lease 2 1/2 years early for a chevy, better ride less road noise and 18 mpg tough to beat,i had a new 99 light duty 3/4 5.4 the last ford i will ever own, terrible automatic.fair mpg ,we haul 4 place snowmobile trailers to the mountains.not bashing anything just telling truth about trucks in wyoming.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the difference between the LLY and LBZ? And what did you pay for yours?
I bought my 04 brand new in late 04 for 32,000. I got 10,000 of the sticker.

go test drive a dodge down a road at 65 to 70 and you will know why you pay more for chevy, it has about 80 % LESS ROAD NOISE ,and will get better MPG.that is fact .dodge makes a good truck but chev makes a great truck .
