battery hold down clamp is rusted on

This is my 2001 Z28. I haven't driven it much at all the past year, and I wanted to correct that this summer but the battery finally died.

The battery hold down clamp bolt is deep behind the battery and there's very little room down there for my socket set. I even used a combination of a screwdriver (with socket adapter) and crescent wrench (to turn the handle). It's rusty and I can't budge it. I tried a little WD40 but no dice.

    Any other suggestions?

Lightly tap on it. Use lots of downward pressure and turn. Remember, the battery tray is plastic so be careful.

Wd-40 let it sit for a bit, then use a socket and extension to break it free.

13mm with at least 6" of extension. More if you can.
Penetrating oil or WD-40 as mentioned.

That plastic tray isn't the strongest thing, but it isn't 'that' expensive either. Just replaced mine.

thanks for the tips. I put WD40 on it yesterday, and I'll pick up a longer extension and will try again. You can never have enough tools, heh heh.
