Fuel injectors?

Im planing for forced induction and decided that 42# injectors are plenty for power that i would like to see. planning on 450ish range with room to see 600 later (in my dreams lol) now im just wondering, what brand of injectors are good?

guess 60s are a better choice then lol

I posted this in 35th's F.I. thread a while back. You can plug in your own numbers and double check the recomended injector sizing:

Flow Rate = (HP x BSFC) / (# of Injectors x Max Cycle)

BSFC is "Brake Specific Fuel Consumption and on a F.I. application is generally said to be 0.55. For N.A. the standard figure is 0.45. Max duty cycle on injectors should be no more than 80%, or 0.80.

I think you said 600 hp? So your formula would be:

Flow Rate = (600 x 0.55) / (8 x .080)

Flow Rate = 330 / 6.4

Flow Rate = 51.5625 lb/hr injectors


Assuming the horsepower level is accurate, it looks like 60 lb/hr injectors would be more than adequate. Hope this helps.

wow i hate math lol thanks for the formula though. 600 was my pipe dream number but 450-500 is more of a reality for me.
So if i plug in the numbers as you said

for 450
Flow Rate = (450 x 0.55) / (8 x .080)
low Rate = 247.5 / 6.4
Flow Rate = 38.67lb/hr injectors

and for 500
Flow Rate = (500 x 0.55) / (8 x .080)
low Rate = 275 / 6.4
Flow Rate = 42.96lb/hr injectors

so 42s would be the limit for a 500ish with everything working right and all supporting mods included right? so 60s would still be better than 42s? or would 42s be ok for shooting for 500?

Get the 60s... they are easy to tune and have a ton more overhead room.

Yeah I figured that would be a safer route judging by the formulas. Plus if i ever do want to go 600hp 60s would be right on the money.

MM made 853 on 60's with higher base pressure. I have many cars in the 750-800rwhp range with them as well. Of course all of these cars have methanol systems.

sweet! thanks frost. Definatly not ready or really even looking for that kind of power yet. 450-500 is plenty for me, after that ill meth it any brand in particular? Ive heard of Motron? or somthing like that, lucas?, fast, and of course bosch. Not sure what brands good.

well for now the system im getting is coming with 42# injectors BUT i will install some 60# later. ill keep the boost at 5-6ish and aim for 450ish. they can manage for now.

I have 62lb injectors and made 500rwhp on 8psi running methanol. Tuned by Frost. I went with Siemens Deka Mototron

sweet, unfortunatly i fell asleep and lost the bid $150 for some 72# injectors was not a bad deal. guy was just had em laying around damn eurpean time lol
oh well. Now im back to 60lbs lol but that will get me to 500hp no prob.. with good tune of course lol
