LS2 Timing Chain Part Number?
Went to local dealer today to price the LS2 timing chain for my 02 Z28. He told me that the part number was the same for LS1. Is this true? I will be doing a H/C swap and I only have 19K miles on it. I don't want to change it if it is the same. Isn't the LS2 chain an upgrade? Anyone have the GM part number for it? Thanks

Chain part number is 12586482 and I was under the impression that it was a better chain than the LS1. I have one I am looking to sell if you are interested. But find out if it is an upgrade first though.

The part # is the same because they don't make the old LS1 chains anymore. If you go to buy an LS1 chain, you will be given the stronger LS2 chain. New LS1 chain=LS2 chain.
