LSX 454 crate motor
I am taking a hard look at this motor right now. Is anyone running this motor in there cars? How do you they like it? I am thinking of using the Holley High Ram with it so it'll run all the way to the top and make good HP. I might add a 75-125hp shot just for fun, lol. What size injectors should I use with something like this? Any advice would be great. Thanks!
James

I don't have that motor, but I wouldn't mind one in my car. Some folks will run a FAST 102mm intake and throttle body on those motors. They are badass if you ask me.

With the bores that big, the cylinder walls get a little thin which limits you to naturally aspirated. No boost no nitrous.

I have been thinking about this engine myself although I was thinking of using the LS7 intake assembly.

2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
Personally, you're paying a lot for the LSX Block ($2500 if I remember correctly). I may be biased, but I'd get a 402/416 LS2, a 418/429 LS3, or a 408/421 LQ9 for a few thousand dollar cheaper and still have respectable power.
Also, a 75-125 shot on a 600whp motor is barely going to do anything for you. I'm planning on spraying my 300whp GTP with a 125 shot. I would spray a two stage (an initial 100 shot, then a 150-200 shot for the second stage).
No necessarily...the LSX Blocks have been pushed over 2500hp with twin turbos. They were build with high hp in mind, a N/A build for a LSX Block is easy street for it.
If you want the standard configuration intake manifold, get a FAST 102. If you want the best flowing intake for that kind motor, get a Super Victor or a Victor Jr with a good elbow (no Edlebrock's elbow...too restrictive).2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 M6: 427ci LS3, Built T56, Moser 9" w/ 4.11 Gearing, Full Suspension, and 6-point Cage.

Thats the biggest one I've heard yet. I've read about a 427 LSX twin turbo and 400 LSX twin turbo. Have you guys seen some of the horrible core shift pictures of the LSX on the net? The more I read about this LSX, the scarier it gets. Hopefully GMs quality control have solved this core shift issue.
Here's a pic of a cutaway demo block GM has been showing around at car shows. Look at how thin the cylinder wall is at the 10 o'clock position on #6 (second from the left). That cylinder core shifted when they poured the casting.
If you go out and buy a $10,000 LSX 454 and wanna do something real serious with it, I'd suggest you tear it down and have it sonic tested for thickness.

OMG!!! Look at that block! That is unbelievable! Man, maybe I'll just go the way of small motor + boost after all. That is scary right there, I got a little more homework after all. damn....

BTW, I think the 2 lefthand cylinders are bored to the 454 size and the 2 RH cylinders are...I'm not sure what size. But you can see the difference.
