Rattling cat?
Ok so about 3 months ago i installed the TSP rumbler with the catted Y.
Each cat looks like a little football on each side, well the driveside one i bottom out on my driveway, just a little clunk going in and out, but its just enough that its flattened out the bottom side of it.
Well last night i was playing around on the loop, pulled through 1st and second, when i pushed the clutch to coast, i heard a rattle.
My first thought was that it was a heat shield around the clutch, its happened before, but it only did it coasting and moving, got home, couldnt get it rattle.
This morning it was rattling pretty bad, some what at idle, but a lot between gears, i get home and its a steady tinkling sound, i was thinking maybe an exhaust tip is loose, my current ones are held in place with screws, not welded yet. so i climb underneath, and it sounds like its coming from the drivers side cat.
I grab my stethoscope, and sure enough, I hear a rattle all along the exhaust, with it being loudest and clearest at the drivers cat.
So yeah, whats up....

You probably knocked the material inside the cat loose, broke some chunks loose, when you hit it on the driveway and flattened the bottom of it.

It's possible. It may also clog up, or just continue to rattle.

I am dealing with a similar problem. It will get worse. It will sound like you have stones inside your exhaust. And you will get pissed at it. And no, it won't blow out as the stock o2 sensors tend to nicely block any substantially sized pieces from exiting.
I had similar happen, had it cleaned out, no SES and no noise, ok no problem. Bit more fuel smell woopdie do.
Week later.. SES light comes on.. rattle is back 3x worse.
Looking to replace stock cat but its $ludicrous.
Sucks.

Yup sounds like the substrate is broken. It won't fix itself, lol. And if you don't have the rear O2s, it COULD, maybe, break loose and cause a restriction in the exhaust. If you have the rear O2s tuned out, I'd take the exhaust apart and see if you can remove the substrate. A rattle like that would drive me nuts.

get a rubber mallet and hit it, you'll pinpoint where all the crap is.
