2 O2 sensors and the CEL pops up on the way home...again.
Great.....now I'm turning into Spaz......hmmmm.....lasagna does sound good........
I had to replace both of the passenger side O2s from when my old motor shit the bed. When the valve punched a hole in piston #4, raw fuel was dumped and fouled out the old sensors. I have a Delco upstream sensor and I just put in a Denso downstream sensor. I cleared the code afterward and today the CEL popped up again. But the car is smooth and doesn't cough.
Are these the backing plates that strange needs?

Add this and then yes it is... Bottom one is the backing plate itself.

Backing plate is between the axle and the brake dust cover. The photo you're showing is just the dust cover. Photo below shows the backing plate between the two.

I didn't even drive my car anywhere today but I started it up in the garage to check if the SES light still stayed on constantly while the car is in operation, and of course it did.
It's the weirdest thing, the car idle's perfect, revs smoothly etc., but I did notice a weird fume coming from under it for some reason though. Smells sort of like it's running rich or something, not really too sure if it's related to my problem though, the car is probably in need of an annual tune up. So many different variables, I'm just at a lost. I need to get down to the auto parts store so I can get a code.
Yup, see my car has the CEL light on cause of my O2 sensor on the passenger side. Its on beacuse I have an exhaust leak by the header and I refuse to fix it again till I buy heads and a cam, but that triggers my O2. Though my car runs fine and doesn't stutter or anything and still runs down the strip like a champ its probably just running a little rich.
Thinking I will try to pick up a set of headers next month...maybe
Yeah, I honestly have no idea what the deal is with this.
Question for you though man, since I mentioned it, what do you think the rich smell could be caused by? Really smells like it's burning too much fuel to me.
Yeah, my car was running perfect yesterday, even after the light had come on. It's super awkward.
But yeah, if I were you, I would just wait until you get your H/C and just turn off the CEL. That's not a bad idea at all, would be kind of unnecessary to replace it.
Also, is the stupid "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light and the "Check Engine Light" two seperate things? Or does your car just have a different readout or something, what am I missing here? I'm confused :lmao:
Now ya got me wondering if the cats are empty on your car.:hmm:
Mine has the "engine" light and "service vehicle soon" message on the cluster. When mine tripped the "service vehicle soon" light, it was for a bad oil pressure switch. I think the CEL is for emissions and the "service engine soon" is for sensors in the engine.
Also, goat, I'm actually surfing through my manual right now. Basically it says if the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light stays on constantly, it's due to emissions, if it's flashing, it means there is a "misfire condition" that has been detected, and it "may damage the emission control system on your vehicle".
Doesn't say anything about a CEL, so I guess mines doesn't have one. I'm looking at a readout diagram for the instrument cluster as well, doesn't have a "CEL" icon on there either, weird.
Mornin.
Dead in here today......
Cinco de Mayo left everyone in lock-up...
Relaxing at home with :coffee:
This is for an s60, strange asks that you send in your backing plates, they don't mention anything about reluctor rings, so I'm just trying to make sure. Either way, I'll get all this clarified when I actually order the damn thing... :woo:
I know for the 9" it requires you to reuse the reluctor rings, not sure about the s60.

Love this car....
Not happy......torque arm doesn't bolt up to the new rear......u-joint isn't the right one......I'm about to start shooting stuff....
I ran all over today and never got a chance to log in.
The jury came in shortly after 1:00 while I was waiting to do a termination hearing and delivered a verdict. Guilty of involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault. They deliberated for about 12 hours.
Peanut butter and jelly frybread...mother of God...
Why didn't I think of that before, nom nom. So good

Changed my oil yesterday in me Jeep (5.7 Hemi) and what a freaking time! I had a friend of mine do it for me while I was getting it inspected and I dont know what the hell he was thinking but I have NEVER had an issue getting the filter off or the plug till today. I needed a damn hammer to hit the wrench on the drain plug! I am not a weakling either and this f^cker wouldnt budge! Then on to the filter and the same thing. I was shaking from putting so much pressure on it and I even put on one of those cheap wrench style filter things on it and I bent the damn handles I twisted so hard. I picked my freaking back off the ground trying so hard. Yeah, I was using ramps in my garage. lol
Never had that much issue........
Oh, I did miss the oil catch too when I got the drain plug out. I must have moved it when I was yelling at the plug.
yeah man bump it snug then bump the wrench a bit on the plug, then i get the filter as tight by hand as I can, then just bump it with a wrench. No issues gettin' em off. Nobody does an oil change for me. If my motor blows cuz of a filter, plug, or lack of oil, its on me. not someone else.
I had the shit in the Jeep with me and the only reason he did it is because it was on his lift anyway.
I put the filter in till its tight (by hand) and then give it just about 1/8th or slightly more turn and call it a day. The plug I get in tight and then give just a little extra on and voila.....
People just piss me off.
Jeff or anyone else...
Doesn't a cop HAVE TO read you your rights if he arrests you?
he didn't get his rights read to him.
Prior to that, son.
At 1:10am I was getting text messages after we left Mansfield. From the looks of it Eric and the other guys has all the girls pretty well in the bag. Perhaps we should have stuck around or went back. He showed up to the final with alcohol coming out of his skin.
I didn't do anything...I'm a good boy :D
Someone who is VERY close to me did and got arrested. So my question still stands.
I thought that was the case, but just wanted to make sure. He wasn't read his and got arrested. I'm going to guess all charges should be dropped. There was a witness.
Needless to say, this should make for an interesting dinner conversation later
It wasn't anything too serious, but I don't plan on letting this one just blow-by. As mentioned, this person is close to me so I plan on getting the necessary info together to help them out.
May I ask was said "friend" did?
If it involved a Walmart, one of those 25 cent space ships outside, a shopping cart, a bag of bird seed, and some marshmallows.....................he has no rights. Experience says so.
It involved urine and an alley
Ahhh...the joys this forum brings me
Tip the cable installer? If so how much?
He wasn't caught "in the act"...
Which is another reason as to why I don't see how he could have gotten arrested.
He was already done, so he says, when the cop caught them. There was a puddle by him and the cop just arrested them after talking to them.
Again, he wasn't read his rights and he didn't get caught in the act.
Needless to say, he was arrested for Public Indecency. I suppose that is a misdemeanor and will not go on his record when companies run a background check? I am thinking it won't show up.
Either way, I think the charges should be dropped given the situation.
I don't know much, but I'm pretty sure they don't have to read you your miranda right at the time of your arrest. But, if they don't read you your rights, anything he says after he gets arrested can't be used against him. Anything the cops observed or even anything that was said prior to him being arrested can be used.
Dan, again, what the fuck would I do with a woman if my fatass got one anyway? I will admit, some of them in Changos were looking good..but somethin' tells me thats all they are good at
Mornin.
Got a long day of bbqing today.
Going to try to get the rear finished and get the car back on the road. Need to get the u-joint in the driveshaft, and engineer a way for the torque arm to work......
