Convertible top motor
Hello All,
I have a '98 Z28 convertible and the top motor needs to be replaced. I can't find any information online or in the Haynes manual that shows how to do this - or if it is something I should attempt to do in my garage. Anyone have experience doing this or know of any how-to info out there?
Thanks!

Have you purchased the new motor yet? They run about $1200.00 from GM.Alls you have to do is disconnect the lines from the old pump and reconnect them to the new one. Just make sure you reconnect them to correct place. Use Mineral oil only when you refill it.You can get it at any pharmacy or supermarket. Fill it to the top line and run the top up and down a couple of times than top off the level and you are done. Don't fill it above the top lline.

Thanks for the info! Is it is easy to get at the pump or do I have to rip the trunk apart?
No I have not bought the pump yet. 1200, wow. I was quoted 700 for parts and labor from a local garage.
