security light came on

i noticed on my way home last night my security light on my dash was lit up can any one tell me why this happens? thanks

My security lite came on when my module went bad. The dealership was puzzled casue it wasnt supposed to start when the lite came on they told me. Costs a few hundred to get it fixed.

so im looking at either a 25 cent $60 or a $300 fix. i noticed while driving it was on while i was driving with my key. so if i try my wifes key and the light does not come on then its probably my key going bad right?

Yes. You might just need to clean the pellet on your key.
