AWD Astro van help...?
Board here has been a BIG help in the past for me. Hope it can help my brother out too. He has a 2000 AWD Astro VAn. When parking or turning tight, growls, grunts, groans, and feels like it is binding all up. Similar to a 4WD with posi front end and lock outs still engaged on dry pavement. Wondering how the system works, what to look for, or where to go for tech advice/help. THANKS in advance

There is a clutch in the transfer case that is sticking. It's a common problem. Change the t case fluid with GM Auto Trac 2 and drive it 100 miles and then change the fluid again. This should cure your problem.
You will need 4 quarts total.

THANKS much. I have already passed it on. Sounds a bit like a limited slip axle situation. Clutch pack binding and sticking w/o proper additives. MUCH Appreciate the help!!!!!
