Squeeky Pads
Got the best brake pad autozone had... now its super squeeky!! Anybody know where to get decent pads that dont do this besides the gm ones?
Oreillys? Napa? etc.

did you put brake lube on the backs of the pads? I would go where ever you can find Bendix pads and buy those but if you didn't lube the backs that may be all you need. Lube the pads and any metal to metal contact surfaces and all moving parts.

I lubed the holy piss outta everything.. Whats the process for breaking in new pads BTW?? I just got back from the parkway and did a few stops from about 100mph.. and tried to warm them up.. they havent squeeked since... but it has only been a few minutes... They seem to only squeek when pressure is starting to be heavily applied...

UPDATE: Advance auto parts about 40 miles away carries bendix brakes....
bendix makes parts for my WWII jeep and its still around so i take it they are a worthwhile parts company..
Semi-Metallic Brake Pad or CT Ceramic Brake Pad ? which is better?

how many miles have you put on these pads? It sounds like next to none, if so give these pads a day or two and see what happens before you go buy any others. If you give it a day or so there's a good chance these will stop squeeling. I've always just used bendix semi-metallic and have had great luck with them. One of the best pads out there IMO.

I had the "best" pads from Autozone....wore them for 3 months and it never stop sqeeling. The I switched to MONROE and never heard anything. My suggestion "THROW THOSE PADS IN THE TRASH"

I'll To try to help with this question......
The ceramic pads are what GM uses, original equipment. They create alot of heat in a short period and require no warm up time before full brake affect. They also create very little brake dust.
Only real draw back I have found with them is they create so much heat so fast,,,,that I have a problem with warped brake rotors in a very short amount of time.
The Semi-metallic pads require some heat generated before they grip at 100%,,,,this usually doesn't take long though, after 1-2 normal stops they are up to temp and working as intended. They are easier on rotors as far as heat is concerned, and I rarely warp a rotor with these.
But....they create much more brake dust and require more cleaning. Not a big deal.
Overall I prefer the semi-metallics as they have been easier on my rotors,,,and I buy only Bendix products. I've never had a problem with any of them squeaking though. Hope that helps.

Ive had the pads on for about a month but i only drive about 2 miles total each day.. btw

Fixed! Good to go!!!
Went to bowling green last night, just have got all the squeeky gone from my belts, replaced all tensioners, idlers etc.. so my girlfriends points out a black TA setting at advance auto so I swing in and I was like... hmm bendix brakes.. so I went up and looked at the TA and got me some new pads..
While installing these I found out my outer tie rod ends are fried.. w000t

I will never buy autozone brakes again for my family or friends vehicles.. The pads were chipped up, had lots of grooves and had an inconsistant texture.. worst of all they had wore about 1/4-1/3 inch already...The old pads had a habit of starting to squeel at random as well..
Thanks for the help guys... On to the rears next...new rotors, pads and shoes...
