i'm tired of this please help
My alarm is going crazy and its very embarassing. I was trapped again at my nephews elementary school for 15 minutes with my alarm going off nonstop. This happened before and I thought I fixed it but I guess not.
When I hit unlock on the remote the siren chirps 4 times then an alarm cycle is triggered and the starter is locked out. Normally to override this, i turn the key to on, then hold the override button then it turns off. But today it would not listen to me, nor anything i did. Now whenever I hit unlock on the remote, the alarm cycle goes off.
DO you know whats going on? what do I do?

Sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm.

i thought it was the override button lol, its the one under the dash, is that teh valet button? i was told that on some gm cars, when the alarm goes off, put the key in the door turn it left then right or vise versa , or turn the key to on, disconnect the battery, then connect it again, that should reset the alarm...what do you think

Check the shock sensor - there is a little black box above the passenger rear wheel, pull off the cover above the spare tire and above the wheel well back there you should find the little box. Disconnect the cable and see if that solves your problem, common for them to go out....

you can try to place the alarm in sleep mode ( Valet mode ) if you have another remote or just try pulling the fuse for it and see what happens , a lot of things depends on the way it is wired in and the type of alarm system there is

well, I dropped the panel under the steering wheel, found a mile of wires, followed the red and black wire from the siren under the hood, and now i just about know what every wire does lol, and as of now my problem is solved, and I got a ghetto killswitch out of it haha i'll leave it like that until I can afford a new alarm next month
