Tired LS1
I have a 2001 Trans Am and my wife swears I love my car more then her
. well I'm In Iraq right now and my car is just siting but before i left she was starting to wear down
, I've done most of the small upgrades like the throttle body to a full 90 and the by pass to keep it cool, K&N filter, Boush 2 plugs, 3" exhaust. As of now I know I needs a new clutch and the front rotors turned, engine mounts, sometings sqeeking in the back in the suspension, I would really like to put some really HP in to it "no bottle". and of course little money. I was thinking heads but do I buy some up grades ones or have P&M performance port my old ones? and then the cam witch ones best for some big OO. and were can i fine a disent clutch. Thanks for looking.

white- 2000 hwaypatrol commodore
i just became aquainted to an ex hway patrol thats clocked over 150,000miles the hardway
and it runs like new (bar the odd pint or two oil usage between 5,000 oil changes).
the way i see it if it aint broke why fix it?thats not to say one cannot alter a few parameters, short n sweet and make significant power gains with the most basic bolt on
mods as per sticky thread suggests.
i started with the maf sensor (port matched, removed the screen and carefull razor edge porting to enhance the flow without compromising signal consistency)+ removed the full cover, gave a liberal dose of degreaser to enhance thermal efficiency and am very impressed
with the performance compared to before.

at 85k shes not tired yet!!
get ya throttle body ported and a lid (if ya dont have one yet)
get some longtubes...pacesetters are cheap and produce good #s & possibly some cutouts
get a ford 9in rear end with 4.11s in it
get a good head/cam set up...depending on what your goals for your car are..daily or weekend warrior or track only.
