Interesting thoughts of a gas saver car.. help?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=180204091216
I just saw this one guy around where I live is selling one of those old rabbits and its a diesel.. I went to look at it in person and its been taken VERY good care of. I was thinking of maybe picking this up as a gas saver as a side to the trans am. Has anyone had these cars to relate to tell me how good they are on gas and such, I was amazed at how the paint is on it the thing looks fricken brand new. any thoughts?

if you get it convert it to bio-diesel so it can run on veggie oil. all you have to do then is get in good with a local restaurant and you can probably get their used cooking oil for free.

My dads friend had one years ago... I know they would always take the thing up to the mountains, because it was so damn good on gas. I think they could go up with 15 bucks of fuel... Its like a 400 mile trip

that would be awesome to run that thing on bio-diesel. Looks really clean and has low miles. I would say get it if you dont want to drive the T/A around too much.

Definitely a good idea. Getting gas so often gets a little annoying after a while so a gas saver would be really nice.

i wouldnt want a car that old even as a beater. get a 8-10 year old car for around a grand and have something half way reliable. i bought a 97 cavalier 2 years ago for $700. not perfect but havent done much more than maintence. also a newer car is easier to buy parts for
