I bet its the synchro
EDIT
Maybe not doesnt the synchros only effect certian gears not all of them if one goes bad?

Your slave or master cyl may be leaking. Check the fluid level and look under the car for any fluid leaking.

I am pretty sure its the clutch cable, there are fingers on the actual clutch and when you push on the clutch cable and they dont open all the way it makes it really hard to get into gears and also casues a grinding noise becasue it doesnt release the clutch all the way.
Do you have an adjustible clutch cable?

So if it were to be the cable or anyting like that.. is it costly??
whatever it is.. it seems expensive to fix.
could this cable or anything related really be messing up my gears this bad??
i just cant get my gear stick to move.. i cant even move it side to side in neutral..

Umm, if there was a cable then no becasue they are usually around the $80 range plus 2 hours of frustraions. But i am probably wrong about it being the clutch cable...

That would be afirmative. No cables in a 4th-gen f-body clutch. A leaky hydraulic clutch system could cause the clutch to not fully release when the pedal is pushed to the floor and result in grinding between gears and make it difficult to pull out of gear while the car is in motion. However...........

I have this problem also. It happens to me in third and fifth. When I start to go into gear it'll grind. I was told it could be the synchros. Mine isn't hard to move or anything though. Hope it helps!
I am going to keep driving mine till its happens all the time but until then I'll deal with the occasional grinding. Tranny rebuilds are expensive

Metallic Pewter- 2002 Trans Am WS.6
This same problem happened to me a month ago. It wasn't a tranny though. My clutch was sticking to the floor and the car would not go in gear. I look in my resovoir and saw that it was bone dry. I took it to my mechanic and it turned out that I had a crack in the slave cylinder. To get to it he had to drop the tranny. While he was under there he noticed that my clutch was shot as well. I mean the whole clutch system was shot, i am talking clutch, fly wheel, and pressure plate. I lucked out, since the mechanic is my best friend's father, he only charged me $450 for labor, but I had to pay $1,000 for the parts. Good luck though!
