Sleeves
Has anybody heard of putting sleeves on the block? I'm just curious as to what is involved/happens when someone puts "sleeves" on their block? I'm assuming it makes the block stronger. Thanks.

The LS1 is aluminum so it has sleeves in it already, now if you change the sleeves to a thinner one it would be like boring an Iron block. change the crank and you would have a bored and stroked motor. it would essentially change your C.I. of the motor, depending on what crank and how then sleeves you went with. i.e. 383..402..408..etc

They basically bore them out to put the larger ones in. Unless you are talking about the Darton kit which actually carves the whole deck section out and replaces them with their stronger MID interlocking sleeves which replaces the entire deck pretty much.
