    New SS, Need suggestions.

Hey, I jus got my 2000 Camaro SS. 6 speed.

It needs new headlights becuz the ones on there are fogged and will not clean. I used 2000 grit sandpaper and headlight restore (plastic polish), but this fog is not coming off even after numerous coats and buffs. What brand of headlights have yall had the best experience wit or do you think would look and hold up the best for my SS?

I want to put a new intake on it. I was looking at the Volant intake but I wanted to get a few second opinions. What do yall think the best bet would be as far as an intake goes?

I have the halo headlights and absolutely love them. It really gives the car a mean look. Also you can pick them up pretty cheap off ebay for around 150 to 180 a pair including new clear or black corners.....Also the slp intake is a well respected one.

I had the SLP cold air intake and K&N filter and it worked great!

just get the SLP lid, and forget Halo's, over-rated and IMO, don't really look that good. just get OEM replacements and call it a day and with the money you save, you can put it towards some real power mods...

as for an intake, go Ls6, unless you plan on going to a Heads/Cam setup later, then go now FAST 90/90 and call it a day...

Replacement headlights from GM will run you around 600 dollars or so. Mine are doing the same, fogging up, so I priced them.

Exactly why i decided on the halos. Your not gonna find any replacement light (new) for cheap enough to have money left over for performance mods. And as for being overrated im the only one any where around with them and i get compliments from all the camaro guys on how it changed the look of my front end....but it all comes down to what YOU like.

    Y2K,

How did you get the berger panel painted? Remove it and paint it yourself? Or, buy new?

Is it easily removed? Or, did you just leave it on the car and paint it like that?

Just buy the stock lenses and leave it. I hate the composite headlight crap all together for this very reason, they are expensive and made of cheap plastic,,,but I won't put the ricey halo stuff on either, so I would suck it up and just buy the stock stuff. Just my opinion though,,,I really wish these things had good old glass type headlights.

Its a 5 minute removal, very simple. Get the carpet out of the way, and there are 4 connection points. It comes right out after you undo the 4 bolts.
