STock Valve Springs
Is it a must to change the valve springs when putting in a bigger cam then stock? Say around .580 lift?
Also, is 110 a tight LSA on an LS1?
Thanks,
Chris

Yes, you def need new, stronger valve springs.
And 110 is a really close LSA for an N/A motor. If your running a power adder, then it should be fine, depending on your application.

Thanks guys. As far as the LSA goes, what would teh charecteristics be? I would ASSuMe a pretty radical idle, but would it still be streetable, for a semi-daily car? I'm used to a 108 LSA in my BB Chevelle, so would it be much different then that cam's charecteristics?

You might have vacuum troubles with a 110. Some people run an NA 110 LSA, but I don't remember if they needed a vacuum pump too.

No doubt about it. Besides, you may also want to check the clearance between your retainer and valve guide/seal.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help. I just have one more question, but it's in regards to the valve springs. How much lift can stock LS6 springs handle?
