Wilwood brake kit (Front+Rear) - horrible support

I ordered both Front/Rear kit ($2100). When I went through the provided instructions, the rear kit mentioned "alterations"... I called up Wilwood only to find that this meant NO ABS and NO TRACTION CONTROL. Great design... Anyway, they said another kit was about to be released in a month that would be a big improvement and I could trade them if I was not happy with the one I bought. They also said the new rear kit would cost me more, but it wouldn't be more expensive than the front kit, as a rear kit certainly should not!

EIGHT MONTHS LATER they finally released the kit, and you betcha it was higher priced by over $650 more than I originally paid, which makes it definitely more expensive than my front kit. They won't honor their original promise limiting the price increase. Their idea of reparations for stringing me along eight months to the tune of a higher bill than they originally promised is that they'll "upgrade" me to the "E" pads on the new kit... but I have to send back the "E" pads I already bought. The only saving grace in all of this is that after wasting all of my time, they're oh so generous (please) as to accept the return and offer a refund... but I still have to pay to ship this heap of junk back to them.

Front kit installation went alright up until the final lock-nut stripped out at 20 ft/lb (instructions say 30-35 ft/lb). I had to send back (on my dime) the whole caliper and bracket over this faulty nut. A MONTH later, I received it back and installation went straightforward.

For T-Byrne's part... they tried to negotiate (unsuccessfully) with Wilwood on my behalf. Still, a retailer is somewhat responsible for the products they sell. T-Byrne, please stop selling Wilwood; its a disservice to your customers.

Lesson learned... don't buy Wilwood. Its a shame I'll probably have to still buy pads through them for my front kit... until I find some others that fit.

Sorry to hear about that man. I have had trouble with aftermarket manufactures too. Its all part of hot rodding and just makes the car that much better after it all put together. Still I wish I could drag those sales man out of the shop and beat them with their own aftermarket junk. haha It will happen again, believe me. It feels like "Back order" is my middle name. All you can do is throw back another beer and hope a tornado hit their building. (just kidding, but not really)
I have the 6-piston set on the font of my 02' SS and didnt have any problems. That was about 3 years ago and they didnt have any rear kit then. Did you ever get the rear kit? I would really like to see what it looks like.

Here's a true enough representation of what I received for the rear kit:

I definitely did not get the new rear kit. Really, I would have been so much happier had I not even bothered with the rear at all. Then I'd just have had the downtime on warranty, which I could forgive. Its when I piece together one thing after another that a bad pattern emerges.

i have them on mine and i'm very happy with mine. mine is an 98 though hence no traction controll. only down fall if the abs light. i can deal with that. it would go away if i had it recalibrated.
