Worn out stock LS1 rockers?
I have almost 90k miles on my 2000 SS and the rockers are worn out. Is this normal for this engine?

some have worn out prematurely to the point where the needles fall out and end up in your oil pan. so, this will be a good time to replace them with either newer stock ones or aftermarket ones.

Will replacing rockers w/ after market 1's add significant power?

Depending on the ratio of arm you install-it can give you a little more push!

The valve cover clearence is the main reason why people don't buy the rocker arms because then they have to buy new V/C's or spacers. Not sure about the specifics, never ventured due to the V/C problem.

the vinci/crane rockers i use have zero valve cover clearance issues. i use the 1.8 acclerated lift rocker kit. kit has rockers, guideplates, shorter chrome moly pushrods, locks, and studs. this will make the valvetrain adjustable.
here's the dyno results with stock cam and stock tune

the main reason why people don't get better rockers is because of all those people that will tell you they aren't worth the money, there are cars out there running 9s with stock rockers, and it will limit what cams you can buy later on.
of course, i didn't listen to those people.

Yeah, alot of people use the stockers and that is very impressive in itself! Although it does limit your cam specs, but I am glad to see the gains you got from your install! The only thing I dont like is the adjustability, leaves room for error.

on LS1 motors, if you cut hte heads, you have to get different length pushrods. also, some aftermarket cams have smaller base circles. this, again, necessitates buying different length pushrods. at least, with an adjustable setup, you don't have to keep buying pushrods. i've seen too many issues due to improper pushrod lengths vs an adjustable system.

niceeee I lilkeeeee ... as far as adjustable ... can you just batten them down to *making no noise and go* or is their specifics you need to deal with on these?
Bigger rockers are the only internal mod I'm planning and do not want issues at all especially pcm tuning ..

the vinci/crane rockers come with very clear instructions on how to adjust the preload on them. the hardest thing is finding zero lash. after that, it's cake.
