Cutting out under load
Cutting out under load
Stutters and hesitates at >75% throttle
-Initial fuel pressure after prime was around 42#.
-Jumped to approx. 56# after start.
-flucuate 2-3#'s while accelerating.
-would jump 5-6#'s while aggressively revving engine while cruising with clutch in.
Any suggestions?
My gut is thinking the fuel pump. Seems like a bit of work for guesswork.
2001 ws6 convertible with 29,xxx - Absolutely CANNOT do the trap door mod.
Thanks for reading.

I take it no codes? Has the fuel filter ever been changed?

No codes currently captured.
I changed the fuel filter approx. 50 miles ago. There was alot of sediment that drained off, however the studder was no different.

It's either the fuel pump or regulator.
Trap door can be done in a convertible. I have done it in mine (my daughters) Vert.
Now personal preference in not doing so I can understand. But it is no difference in the vert from a t-top/hardtop.

Ok
I was hoping it was the pump!
Well not exactly looking for the extra work but hoping someone would see things as I did - that is encouraging.
I am currently participating in the group purchase at Huron Speed and Jon has already sent me my Racetronix upgrade pump and hotwire kit as part of the turbo setup. I have to get the studder worked out before tearing into things for the turbo build.
Wow, how many guys go through the hassle of going into the tank and never so much as touch the regulator - that would be frustrating.
I'll plan to put in an order for the regulator.
As far as the trap door, I know I could save myself a considerable amount of time but just can't bring myself to cut it open.

Pajeff02 I see someone referenced you in a different post as the one knowledgeable in regard to p/n for the replacement regulator.
I've got the racetronix pump and hotwire setup ready to go in and figured I'd source a regulator as well so I'm not dropping the tank a second time anytime soon.
If you still have that p/n I would appreciate it.
