Yeah, I'm fairly sure I wouldn't be swimming in anything other than a pool for awhile after that
I'd rather be in the water and see a white than say a tiger or bull shark. I saw a documentary awhile back where they were free diving (outside a cage) with a number of great whites off of Baja. The sharks were curious, but never brazen enough to attack, with the divers only having spears to keep the sharks at arms length. Seems like most of the time people get attacked by whites it's a case of mistaken identity. Whereas tiger sharks and bull sharks are just mean and will eat anything

I have been face to face with a 12+ foot tiger shark, no big deal really. They don't actually just attack people without a legitimate reason despite what society likes to believe.
I also do salvage diving for work in water that regularly has bull sharks in it, granted I have never seen one but the water is so murky I would not know until it was face to face with me.Last edited by 98TransAmWs-6; 06-13-2014 at 08:07 PM.

I have a friend who was doing some work in the Baltimore Harbor and he had a Bull shark swim right over his shoulder. He didn't know it until it rubbed against his face as it swam by, at which point he jumped out of the water lol.

bull sharks are no joke......highest testosterone on the planet which supposedly is what makes them so aggressive and they swim in fresh water. There's a pretty cool website ocearch.org that shows all the tracking info for the great whites they've tagged. I always go to it before we head to va beach just to see where they are. Right now there's actually a few on the eastern seaboard.

That is pretty relative, they are like the rottweiler of sharks. Yeah if you make yourself seem like a fish or food of some sort they will most likely attack you, that or if you harass them. If you leave sharks alone they will leave you alone unless like you do something stupid like I previously said. The "maneater" label is a common misconception and also most people mistake a tigershark for a bull shark. Society labels them as dangerous just because they have bitten someone mostly due to provoking them in some manner. In most shark attack cases the shark thought the person was food probably due to looking like a fish from below or flailing around like injured prey.

Whenever you come face to face with a shark, start yelling "PLAYOFFS PLAYOFFS" and they'll disappear.

They only attack when they think you're something else, because they couldn't see you. At least, that's what I've always read.

that must be an untagged great white.....the only shark registered that's showing up near there the last 30 days is a 5' long Mako.
