Proper Gearing?
Heres my dilema. I was at a stop light next to a civic. Light went green i took off had him through first gearing it shifted to second and the civic left. It a 92 bird with a 305 tbi automatic. Out of second gear it accelerates to 3 grand so slow but once it hits 3 grand its ok. Same thing in 3rd gear. My neighbor races and told me to put a 3.90 rear gear in it and he said it chould correct it to where it will accelerate much better. Is that true? What do you guys think. Should i put a 3.90 in or a diff. ratio gear?
