    Polished TT2's

The trans am I got a month or 2 ago came with polished Torque Thrust 2's on it...I really like the rims and the lips of the rims are not that bad and still have a pretty good shine to them, but its very apparent the spokes of the rims have not been polished well, if at all in a LONG time...plus, it looks like somebody got really excited about washing the rims with some type of wheel cleaner that probably had acid in it...Any recommendations on how to go about tackling the polish on these rims? Im pretty sure the spokes can be brought back to the point that they look like the lip of the wheels, but Im not sure what would be the best product to use up front along with what applicator. Powerball, polish kits, etc...

    Thanks

Can you post a picture of the wheels and show the damage. Many of the wheels made today have a clear coat on them and once it is gone you will need to have it reapplied. Pictures would help.

Bummer. I would have said give yourself a day and polish the hell out of them. Would have looked SO much better than the paint.
I know how much of a pain in the ass those wheels can be, but man, when they are polished properly and clean, they look SO good on the T/A's.

I had them, use Mother's Billet and the mini-powerball. Took plenty of time, but worth it.

The paint will come off I do a lot of paint work so I can get it off...i'll roll around with the black spokes for a while and I'll probably go back to polished. I never leave anything the same way for an extended period of time anyway. What polish would you recommend?

Nope...I have a shop that I do a lot of work in so I tinker on stuff just about every day

The real reason I want to revert back is because I passed a black WS6 with my exact rims and they were polished up and it looked pretty good.............

TADAAAAAA! Back to polished rims she goes....only took 30days for me to change my mind and I took the paint off yesterday and used up the polish I had in my garage. Im probably going to get some better polish sometime this week and hit them again with a drill...they look better than they did before I painted them, but still need some work...if they need to be hit with some sand paper, what grit do you guys recommend or do you recommend it at all? Only reason I ask is because a few of the spokes are being an absolute PIA!!!!!!!

Depends on how bad they are. If they're not too bad maybe 1000 to 2000 grit sandpaper and then polish. If they're pretty bad might have to go to a lower grit first

I dont think they are that bad, but a high grit probably would make my life a whole lot easier on some of the spots that are being a pain to get polished.....how do you recommend polishing them? I know a lot of people use different techniques...I usually put the polish on with a towel and let it sit for about 30seconds and then go to work with the drill and wipe it off.
