loud pop from exhaust

when i crank my car up after it has been sitting for a while and rev it up, it will pop really loud. i have a gmmg exhaust and stock headers, y-pipe and intake. somebody once told me i needed an EGR valve from a corvette. anyother suggestions?

i have the exact same problem with my 2000 ls1, it goes away when the engine warms up but it is embarassing until it does not to mention extremely annoying.

I just added a thread above yours and I'm having a wierd sound as well. Wonder if its the same?

my 2000 ls1 does the same...most ls1's will do it until they go into closed loop (out of warm up cycle) nothing to worry about comes with the territory...now since i have removed my cats it's doesn't do it as loudly

Mine always pops when cold even after a quick restart after just a couple miles, and not even reving. Always thought it was just running rich until warmed up????

my 98 SS only does it once when the car fires up, and it only does it sometimes, when its hot outside, i've been told its unburnt fuel but there is never any smoke when it happens, idk
