LS7 clutch swap
About two weeks ago my stock LS1 clutch went out with 69k miles on it. I decided to upgrade a little and go with the LS7 kit. Everything is installed and the clutch was bled and theres no air in the lines. The clutch needs to be pushed all the way to the floor and it engages about an inch off the floor. It seems very low to me and very uncomfortable. After doing some research I found that a lot of people said that they engage low and they shim the slave to create a higher engaging point in the clutch. Anyone have any ideas or has anyone done the swap?

I do believe an adjustable master will solve your problem. Gives you control on where the pedal engages. I didn't do that and had no issues with my swap, so not sure what exactly the problem is. Could be your master is no bueno and also needs to be replaced anyway.

How far off the floor does yours engage? Did you use the ls1 slave and throw out bearing or a different one?

About 1/4 pedal it would start to engage. LS7 clutches are self adjusting as well. It will relax a bit over time. There is a break in period of about 500 miles or so. I used LS1 everything except the clutch kit (clutch and flywheel). As I recall now, the clutch did engage pretty much right off the floor for the first week or so.

I put a LS7 clutch in mine at about 60,000 miles. Put in a new GM slave throw-out at the same time. The slave was expensive but I've had no issues & clutch holds very well. If I was to do it again I would find a lighter flywheel though -lots of free HP there.

Where did it engage at?

I don't have a LS7 set-up, but when I first installed my Spec Stage 3+ clutch, it engaged damn near the floor. After about a 500 mile break-in, the clutch pedal started to engage a little further up. I'm still using my stock slave and MC. Been fine for the last 14K miles now.

wow, you need a booster seat to drive......

It will move up. However, an adjustable MC like mentioned might be a good investment for you. That way you can set it to engage where you want.
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

I put in a LS7 clutch and an adjustable Tick. My engagement was right off the floor, but after a few miles, 500 or so, it moved up quite a bit, and now its about halfway off the floor
