traction control stuck off
normalley when I start the engine I allways turn the TCS off unless the road is wet then leave it on.
well the other day it was raining I noticed that my traction control sys. was off went to turn it on and could'nt
I'm thinking the toggle switch has finalley burned up,
?1. if I have continuity w/ switch on and off would this indicate only the switch is bad and not something else w/ TCS?
?2.can I substitute the OEM switch w/ a regular on off toggle? not sure if I can because if I remember correctly there are more than 2 wires connected to this switch.

If I recall, you should have a reading with the meter set to Ohm. If you get power with the switch off, then it's bad. Is your ABS light lit? You could have an ABS fault resulting from a bad wheel sensor or blown fuse. As far as substituting, check how many terminals are on your factory switch.

OK " If you get power with the switch off, then it's bad" this makes sense because I'm mearsuring on back terminals w/ power in off = burned contacts.
I'll post up the # of wires on back of switch.
ABS anti lock brakes light isn't no the dash
Thanks

the TCS started working normalley again I say again because it has stuck itself off in the past guess it's one of those mysteries of the unknown.
now the rear window defroster is malfunctioning it comes on w/ light on the control panel however it only stays on for about 30 seconds then it turns off and it is'nt defrosting the rear dew on the window, normalley the frost or dew is gone w/in 20 seconds.
I'll try to clean the electrical contacts at the window.
any thoughts?
Thanks

My ASR was stuck off for several days but has now started working again. I noticed around the same time that my rear-window defroster wasn't working. The light on the dash came on when I pushed the button but it didn't appear to be working, so after several minutes I turned it off.

Not sure, but it might be worth checking. My ASR has since started working normally, though. I need to see if the rear defroster works now.

I would check fuses and relays just to be safe.
